“Ms. Karithwa Kirimi was out to tarnish my name,” Mrs. Dorothy Ng’ethe, the chairperson Daystar University Parents Association (DUPA) has said.
This comes after an audio of her conversation with Ms. Karithwa, Daystar University Athi river student President was released and circulated among Daystar University students.
“What I told Karwitha is to make sure that they are not influenced by politics. This is because I noticed the slogan ‘Resist’ in the WhatsApp group walls,” said Mrs. Ng’ethe.
She affirms that her reaching out to Karwitha was in a quest to create dialogue and Karwitha’s remarks about her conversation are out to tarnish her name.
“What she did is not good. Solving a problem amicably was my approach. I do not take her claims lightly,” Mrs. Ng’ethe added.
The audios, which were partly in Meru vernacular, were of the Dupa chair asking Karwitha to call off the strike.
“Call of the strike or you will put yourself in trouble. Aloys and his group are being influenced by social media. You see how the government is being disturbed by this otieno people call off the strike or you will be in trouble,” said Mrs. Ng’ethe in part of the audios.
This was then followed by a video of both the Valley Road and Athi River presidents, whereby Miss Karwitha communicated to the students that she has been asked by the Dupa chair not to align herself with the Valley Road president on basis of his tribe.
“Yesterday Madam Dorothy Ng’ethe the Dupa chairperson called me asking me to remember that my name is Karwitha and my fellow president’s name is Otieno. And that his people are causing the government a lot of harm. I should not be dealt with these people,” said Karwitha in part of the video.
The Dupa chair however responded to the allegations saying that she also had a similar conversation with Aloys Otieno, Valley Road chair , coercing them to make sure they are not influenced by politics.
Mr Otieno however disputes that .
”The Dupa chair did not have the same conversation with me .She just asked me to talk to the senate and call of the strike ,” said Aloys.
