It was a renaissance at last for the football Falcons as they banked six points in two days to finally move up the Football Federation Kenya (FKF) league standings.
The team, previously positioned at the bottom of the log, moved five places above to lie at 12th with wins against Alpharama FC and Katoloni FC. Team captain Joash Olwaga hailed the team’s performance on both days and praised the players who featured on both days.
“We went into the games with a lot of confidence after a week of hardwork in training. It was a good show from those who featured in both games”, remarked Olwaga.
The team registered a commendable result on Saturday, October 4 as they humbled Alpharama FC 4-1 to clinch thevictory. “The Saturday game was a perfect show as it boosted the team’s confidence going into the next game” stated the captain.
The team’s performance had been questionable with a run of poor results that left them at the bottom after every weekend. “The team has had a bad run of results in the past but I believe the wins mean a change of that as it starts a new chapter,” asserted Kennedy Nganga, a former Falcons player.
The players now have a duty of ensuring that the results don’t change and that they don’t fall on the log. The captain however assured that the team has regained full confidence and courage for the remaining fixtures.
“The team hopes for better performances especially after getting two consecutive wins. We believe the wins will give us the courage and confidence to push for more.”
